As well as Doctor and Nurse appointments, the surgery offers a wide range of other services. These are:
The clinical team provides specific clinics as follows:
In addition various other conditions are managed and followed up by the doctors and nurses via our call and recall system; for example:
So if you receive invitations from us to attend the surgery for reviews for any of these please attend or let us know if you do not wish to be followed up.
If you receive a new diagnosis of any type of cancer we will be aware of this from letters received from the hospital. We offer help and support to you and your family, so please ask your doctor for a “cancer care review” at any time.
Most of our doctors perform minor operations and your doctor will advise you if you need an appointment for this clinic. There is often a short wait for an appointment. These appointments are usually on a Friday morning.
Our Practice Midwives are able to offer patients all aspects of maternity care, but GPs are also available to see you during normal surgery consultations.
We prefer our patients to attend the surgery for family planning services, rather than go elsewhere.
We have two weekly Family Planning Clinics, by our Family Planning Drs and Nurses.
Sister Julie Searle and Sister Helen Lorimer also have appointments throughout the week for contraception and Family Planning services.
All our Doctors are qualified to offer child health surveillance. Doctors, Nurses and Health Visitors run a programme of vaccinations and developmental checks. Appointments can be arranged by the Health Visitors. We will always find room for mothers to breast-feed their babies. Child health development checks are offered at the intervals agreed in local guidelines.
