Training Practice

Dr McManus, Dr Pavey and Dr Dawson are authorised Trainers for General practice and they have one or more GP registrars on attachment at any one time. These GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors training to work as a GP in general practice and you will be offered appointments with these doctors. Their attachment periods are either for four months or twelve months.

GP registrars may wish to video their consultations for training purposes only. The recording will only be seen by the GP and their tutor Doctor at the surgery and once it has been viewed, it will be erased. Your permission is needed in order for the Doctor to video your consultation. You will have to sign to say you agree to the recording, but if you do not wish to be videoed, the camera will be turned off.

Medical Students and Pharmacists

Weavers Medical has a long tradition of teaching the health workers of the future. As well as doctors studying to complete their training as GPs we also have medical students and pharmacists furthering their education in primary care.

You might have appointments with these health professionals or receive telephone calls. We strongly believe this adds to the level of care we are able to provide and helps the whole practice to keep up to date with the latest medical thinking and innovation. We will also shortly have nursing students in the practice providing valuable care to patients as well as furthering their primary care training.

Student District Nurses/Health Visitors/Midwives

Occasionally, the District Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwife in the surgery will have student District Nurses, Health Visitors, and Midwives working with them.
